Gilbert Barton Hennagin was born on 9 February 1859 at Indiana.2,1 He was the son of John Hennagin and Elizabeth Covey.1 Gilbert Barton Hennagin married Clara Gertrude Allen on 20 June 1885 at Ellsworth, Lake Co, Michigan; Both Gilbert and Clara were residents of Totter, in Lake Co.3 Gilbert Barton Hennagin died on 25 March 1945 at Mapleton, Lane Co, Oregon, at age 86.2,4 He was buried on 28 March 1945 at Mapleton I.O.O.F, Mapleton, Lane Co, Oregon.2
He appeared on the census of 16 June 1900 at Le Roy, Osceola Co, Michigan; Gilbert Henagin, 41, Clara, 31, Lottie, 14, Lizzie, 11, May, 9, Kittie, 7, Delbert, 5, Clarence, 3 and Edward, 1. They were renting and had been married 15 years. All enumerated had been born in Michigan.5
