     Charles McMahon was born circa 1844.3 He was the son of Charles McMahon.2 Charles McMahon married Elizabeth "Hester" Hart Bigham, daughter of Andrew Bigham and Ann Stranaghan, on 18 October 1870 at Drumgath Parish, County Down, Ireland; Charles McMahon was of Dromore and Essy Hart was of Drumarkin. Witnesses were his father and her sister, Martha Jane.2 Charles McMahon died on 8 December 1916 at Dromore, Warrenpoint District, County Down, Ireland; Charles was a widower at the time of his death. His son Fred was present at the time of his death.4
     He appeared on the census of 31 March 1901 at Dromore, County Down, Ireland; Chas McMahon, 57, Essie, 52, Essie H., 14, Minnie Clemo, 29, Margaret Jane, 16, Fred C., 22, Robert John, 11, Alfred B. Clemo, 1 and Fred Chas Clemo, 3.3 He appeared on the census of 1911 at Dromore, County Down, Ireland; Charles McMahon, 67, widowed; Frederick Charles, 32, and wife Isabella, 22 and son Robert Norman, 3; Charles' dau Essie Harriett, 23, and son, Robert John.5
