Aimery IV de Thouars was born circa 1020 at Thours, Deux-Sevres, Poitou-Charentes, France; Aimery was a companion of William the Conquerer in his 1066 invasion of England. He did not remain in England though, as he received "ample" reimbursement and returned to France.1 He married Aremgarde in 1045.1 Aimery IV de Thouars died circa 1094 at Anjou, France; Aimery was assissinated by two of his own knights. He was buried in the the church of Sint Nicholas in La Chaize.1
