William Henry Young

     William Henry Young was born on 13 April 1815 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; The Family Bible indicates William was born 19 April 1815, but this was written well after he was born.^1,2 He was the son of Jacob Young and Arlotta Covey. William Henry Young was baptized on 16 July 1815 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ He married Lany Rowe, daughter of George Rowe and Elizabeth Beerwort, on 6 March 1838 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; They were married by Rev. Townsend, Minister of the Church of England.^3,2 William Henry Young married Nancy Cochrane on 7 September 1852 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; They were married by Rev. Langton, Minister of the Wesleyan Methodist Church.² William Henry Young died on 9 March 1882 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 66.² He was buried at Union Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.
     Before marrying Nancy Cochrane, William Henry Young went before a notary, Pierre Gamelin, and a complete inventory was done of the estate which belonged to himself and his deceased wife, Lany Row. He had been appointed tutor for his minor children and George John Row, their uncle, was sub-tutor. They were listed as Cornelia Elizabeth, 13y 7m, "Lidia Marandy", 11y 8m, Eliza Ann, 9y 5m, William George, 7y 10m, Margaret Maria, 5y 4m, and Narcisia, 2y 9m.⁴
