     George Hamilton Ridgeway was born on 14 May 1847 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of John Hamilton Ridgeway and Lydia Wheeler. George Hamilton Ridgeway was baptized on 25 December 1848 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 He married Abby (?)3 George Hamilton Ridgeway married Ida May Wheeler, daughter of Samuel Wheeler and Chloe Miranda Wait, on 10 December 1870 at Livingston, Madison Co, Illinois.4,5 George Hamilton Ridgeway died on 18 January 1914 at age 66.6 He was buried at Lot 159, Cromwell, Adams Co, Iowa.6
     He appeared on the census of 15 August 1870 at Pella Twp., Ford Co, Illinois; George Ridgeway, 23, wife Abby, 26, son Ebenezer, 10 mos and his brother Samuel, 21.3 He appeared on the census of 1910 at Prescott Twp, Adams Co, Iowa; George H. Ridgeway, 62, and wife Ida M., 56, having been married 39 years, had 7 children 4 still living.5
