Priscilla Tryon

Priscilla Tryon was born circa 1811 at Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 She was the daughter of David Tryon Jr and Jane Crawford. Priscilla Tryon married Samuel Nash Phelps, son of Joel Phelps and Jerusha Nash, on 14 May 1832 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Samuel was a farner of Stanbridge and Priscilla being a minor of Foucault, witnessed by her father, David Tryon and uncle, Timothy Tryon.2 Priscilla Tryon married Moses Spear on 25 June 1840 at St Armand, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.3 Priscilla Tryon married Lucius Edson on 4 October 1860 at DeKalb Co, Illinois.4 Priscilla Tryon died after 1880 at Michigan.
She witnessed the will of Moses Spear on 27 August 1846 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Moses Spear, after his debts were paid, bequeathed their home with the 38 acres it was on, to his beloved wife, Priscilla Tryon for her lifetime. He named their three children, Mary Adelaide, aged 5, and Sarah Eliza, 3 yr 2 mo, and Elizabeth Ann, ae 1 yr and 4 mo., to receive this land, house and furnishings, as well as the farm's stock, and implements of husbandry, after Priscilla's passing. He also provided for them should Priscilla pass away while they were minors.
Moses also provided for the children by hs first wife, Hannah Schoolcraft. It was mentioned that sons Ibry and Noah were to provide for their brother, Martin, who was "not being of a very sound mind".5 Priscilla Tryon appeared on the census of 11 June 1860 at Hampshire, Kane Co, Illinois; This writer believes that it is Priscilla who appears as Percaly Spencer (Spear?), 47, Jane Marble, 36, Darius Marble, 28, Mary Princing(?), 22, Elisa Speary (Spear?), 17, Elizabeth Speary (Spear?), 15, all b. Canada and Eveline Marble, 5 and Sidney Marble, 2, b. IL.6 She appeared on the census of 1880 at Trowbridge, Allegan Co, Michigan; Priscilla was 67, widowed, and living with her son-in-law, Fred Porter. There was Fred, 37, his wife Eliza, 36, and their daughter, Grace, 4.7
