Doris Dean was born on 5 August 1913 at Putnam, Windham Co, Connecticut.1,2 She was the daughter of John Munday Dean Jr and Ethel Kerr. Doris Dean married Edward Charles Dench on 2 September 1944 at Putnam, Windham Co, Connecticut.1 Doris Dean died on 16 December 2000 at Clover Health Care Facility, Auburn, Androscoggin Co, Maine, at age 87;
"She was educated in Putnam schools and attended Beaver College in Pennsylvania. She married Edward C. Dench in 1944, and they were married 55 years before his death on November 16, 1999. Mrs. Dench lived in Needham, MA and from 1961 in Gloucester, MA before coming to Maine.
She is survived by twin Daughters , Dean MacDonald and Lee Harper both of Medfield, Mass; and one son, Bryan M. Dench and his wife, Mary Jane, of Poland; She also leaves 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and is survived by one sister, Natalie K. Haines of Putnam, CT."2,3
Doris attended Putnam schools in Connecticut, Beaver College in Glenside, Pennsylvania, and Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, Massachusetts.1
