     John B. Hamilton was the son of James Hamilton.1 John B. Hamilton married Charlotte Buchanan, daughter of James B. Buchanan and Margaret Kerr, on 16 April 1851 at St Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.2 John B. Hamilton died on 10 October 1852 at Cadiz, Cadiz Province, Spain; The notice said John was a merchant of New York, formerly of Saint John city, the fifth son of James Hamilton, Esquire, of Halifax, Nova Scotia, leaving a wife and a child behind.1
