Henry I of France was born on 4 May 1008 at Reims, France.3 He was the son of Robert II of France and Constance of Arles.1,2 Henry I of France married Anna of Kiev, daughter of Yaroslav I and Inguigarde of Sweden, on 19 May 1051 at Reims, France.4,5 Henry I of France died on 4 August 1060 at Vitry, Brie, France, at age 52; Henry was succeeded by his son, Philip I, who was only seven at the time of his death. For six years immediately following his death, his Queen, Anne of Kiev ruled as regent.4,3 He was buried at Saint Denis Basilica, Paris, France.6
Henry gained the crown in 1031 and held it until his death in 1060. His reign was mostly marked with territorial disputes.3
