     James Nisbet was born circa 1847 at Kings Co, New Brunswick.1 He was the son of Oliver Nisbet and Mary Stewart. A bond for the marriage of James Nisbet and Sophia Burket was signed in 1874 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick.2 James Nisbet married Sophia Burket in 1874.3 James Nisbet died before 1891 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; He was not listed with his family in the 1891 census.
     He appeared on the census of 1881 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick; James Nisbet, aged 34, wife Sophiah, aged 39 (b. Germany), along with their two daughters, Jessie, aged 5 and Mary, aged 4, and son Joseph, aged 9 mos (b. July).4
