Henry I Beauclerc was born in September 1068 at Selby, Yorkshire, England; Being the youngest son of William the Conquerer, he was born just two years after his father invaded England in 1066.1,2,3 He was the son of William The Conquerer and Matilda of Flanders. Henry I Beauclerc married Edith Matilda of Scotland, daughter of King Malcolm III of Scotland and Margaret Aetheling, on 11 November 1100 at Westminster, Middlesex, England. Henry I Beauclerc died on 1 December 1135 at St Denis-le-Fermont, near Rouen, France, at age 67.1 He was buried at Reading Abbey, Reading, Berkshire, England.1
He reigned between 3 August 1100 and 1 December 1135 as King of England. He was crowned 6 August 110 at Westminster.1
