Photograph taken at the Soldiers Monument, Springfield, Mass., May 13th, 1912 George M. P. Holt was born at St. Marks, Wakulla County, Florida, January 5th, 1845. Enlisted in the Confederate Army at Newport, Florida, February 28th, 1863. Newport being my home at that time enlisted in Second Florida Calvary, Company D. George W. Scott, Captain. Received my parole at Tallahassee, Florida, May 13th, 1865, by order of Gen. E. M. McCook, Commanding Officer, U. S. Forces, Tallahassee, Florida. George M. P.
