     Sarah Martha Cloer was born in May 1847 at North Carolina; Since the 1850 census indicated b. 1847, and the 1900 census indicated born May 1847, it is likely the secondary date as a birth: 25 May 1850, really means she was born 25 May 1847.^1,2 She was the daughter of Roberson Cloer and Margret Lavina Byers. Sarah Martha Cloer was born on 25 May 1850 at Iredell Co, North Carolina. She died on 31 August 1932 at Sharpsburg, Iredell Co, North Carolina, at age 85; death certificate, Vol 18, page 247 (1932), Vital Statistics Iredell Co. She was buried on 1 September 1932 at Trinity Methodist Church, Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina.
     She appeared on the census of 21 June 1900 in the household of Bam Washington Cloer at Concord Twp, Iredell Co, North Carolina;
     Bam Cloer was single, 25, and living with his mother, Sarah Martha Cloer, 53, and his grandmother, Lavina Byers Cloer, 73. Lavina had mothered 10 children, 8 of whom were still living.² Sarah Martha Cloer appeared on the census of 29 April 1910 at Concord Twp, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Sarah Cloer, 59, said she had one marriage, and one child, still living. She was living with her only son, "Bammer W. Cloer" and his wife Carrie Myers.³
