Cora Lee Sharpe was born on 8 June 1870 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.1 She was the daughter of William Paley Sharpe and Mary Ann Cloer. Cora Lee Sharpe was born in 1872 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.2 She married Lewis Lambert after 4 December 1900 at Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina; The announcement that a marriage license had been issued to Louis Lambert and Cora Sharpe appeared in the newspaper on 4 December 1900.3 Cora Lee Sharpe died on 15 March 1937 at Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina, at age 66.2
She was buried on 17 March 1937 at Trinity Methodist Church, Statesville, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Cora's death certificate states that she was living at Hill Street in Statesville, the widow of Lewis Lambert. Her obituary [The Landmark, 18 March 1937] states she died at her home on the old Charlotte Road. "Surviving were four daughters, Mrs. Will Gregory, Mrs. Howard Lambert, Mrs. Fred Gaines and Mrs. Ed King, and one son, Mr. Lawrence Lambert, all of Statesville. Two sisters, Mrs. Puella Sharpe and Mrs. Ed Gregory, of Statesville; two brothers, Mr. Charles Sharpe, of Barium Springs, and Mr. Will Sharpe, of Catawba, also survive." The funeral was held at the home of her son, Lawrence, on Hill Street.2
