     Samuel Durgin Welch was born on 15 May 1796 at Warren, Grafton Co, New Hampshire.1,2 He married Elizabeth Wait, daughter of Briggs Wait and Mary Sheer/Shier, on 5 April 1818 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; In 1838 the Welchs resided in Hinchenbrooke, PQ.3 Samuel Durgin Welch died on 6 October 1841 at Russelltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec, at age 45.1 He was buried at Old Manning Cemetery, Franklin Centre, Huntingdon Co, Quebec.4
