John Riddlesdale was baptized on 26 September 1557 at Boxford, Suffolk, England. He was the son of Henry Riddlesdale and Joan (?)1 John Riddlesdale married Dorcas (?) circa 1583.1 John Riddlesdale died in June 1629 at Bures St Mary, Suffolk, England, at age 71; He was likely living with one of his children when he died.1 He was buried on 4 June 1629 at Assington, Suffolk, England.1
John and Dorcas sold a 10 acre close, two 5 acre closes and one two acre close to John Gryme the Elder of Assington and his wife Faith for £120 on 3 Jan 1613/4. It seems that that very day, Dorcas released her interest in land leased in Jun 1555 for 500 years by John and Robert Gurdon to John Vigorus the younger, clothier of Langham. Perhaps she was related to John Vigorous?2
