     Jared Belding was born circa 1755. He was the son of Jared Belding and Dinah Thomas. Jared Belding married Rachel (?) before 1776.1 Jared Belding died on 10 December 1778 at Long Island, New York; while in the British army. Conneticut Church Records shows he was "amongst our enemies on Long Island."2,1
