Joseph Allen was born on 14 October 1708. He married Mary Baker, daughter of John Baker and Sarah Hurlbut, on 11 March 1736/37 at Woodbury, Litchfield Co, Connecticut; They were married by Rev. Anthony Stoddard, the second minister of Woodbury.
