     Mercy Scott was born on 11 July 1827 at Farnham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of Richard Scott and Mercy Healey. Mercy Scott married John Short on 28 January 1847 at Brome, Brome Co, Quebec; Brome Congregational Church. Mercy Scott was baptized on 13 May 1847 at Farnham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Farnham Anglican Church. She died on 13 March 1911 at Kalamazoo, Kalamazoo Co, Michigan, at age 83.1 She was buried at West Cooper Cemetery, Cooper, Kalamazoo Co, Michigan.2
