     Mary Dewey was born on 2 August 1765 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia. She was the daughter of Moses Dewey. Mary Dewey married Jonathan Wood, son of Nehemiah Wood and Elizabeth Hovey, on 22 February 1792 at Falmouth, Hants Co, Nova Scotia.
     Mary's father, Moses Dewey left her, widow of Jonathan Wood, eight pounds.1
