Rosetta Jones was born in October 1823 at Vermont.2 She married Allen Hackett circa 1850 at New York. Rosetta Jones married Abel Tryon, son of David Tryon and Elizabeth Lewis, after 15 June 1880 at Clinton Co, New York. Rosetta Jones died on 5 January 1902 at Ellenburg Depot, Clinton Co, New York, at age 78; "Mrs. Rosetta Tryon, one of our oldest residents, passed away on Jan. 5th, after an illness of several weeks...She leaves four sons and one daughter, several grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was about 80 years of age. She will be buried beside her first husband, Allen Hackett, who died some twenty-five years ago".3 She was buried at Sheldon Cemetery, Ellenburg Depot, Clinton Co, New York.1
In 1880, Rosetta was living with her daughter Agnes, aged 19, and her husband, Andrew Miller, in Mooers, New York. Abel Tryon was then aged 80, and living next door. She appeared on the census of 11 June 1900 at Altona, Clinton Co, New York; Rosetta Hackett was aged 76, born Oct 1823 Vermont, and living with her sons Merrill, 47 and Albert, 38 in Altona. She was listed as "mother" and also under the Hackett name. This raises the question as to whether Abel Tryon and she ever married.2,4
