     Ephraim Filer was born circa 1779 at Quebec. He was the son of Samuel Filer and Jerusha Hopping. Ephraim Filer married Elizabeth Tryon, daughter of David Tryon and Elizabeth Lewis. Ephraim Filer married Amy (?) after 1828. Ephraim Filer died on 9 April 1875.
     He witnessed the death of Elizabeth Tryon on 28 April 1828 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.1 Ephraim Filer witnessed the marriage of Margaret Bearman and Calvin Filer on 19 June 1833 at Johnstown District, Grenville, Ontario.2,3 Ephraim Filer appeared on the census of 19 October 1850 at Mooers, Clinton Co, New York; Ephraim Filer, 70, farmer, b. Canada and wife Amy, 77, b. Rhode Island.4
