     Marcus Scott was born circa 1807.1 He married Harriet Ella Sharpe, daughter of Fieldon Sharpe and Sarah Allen, on 14 March 1878 at Iredell Co, North Carolina.2,1 Marcus Scott died on 31 May 1892 at Iredell Co, North Carolina; " Mr. Marcus Scott dies at the age o 85 years and some months on the 31st ult. His remains were interred at Amity.3 He was buried at Amity, Iredell Co, North Carolina.3
     He and Harriet Ella Sharpe appeared on the census of 11 June 1880 at Concord Twp, Iredell Co, North Carolina; Marcus Scott, 73 and wife, Harriet, 43.1
