     Jesse Tiner was born in 1755 at Cape Hatteras, Currituck Co, North Carolina. He was the son of John Tyner. Jesse Tiner married Sarah Brooks on 26 November 1812 at Johnston Co, North Carolina.1 Jesse Tiner died on 26 May 1818 at Johnston Co, North Carolina.
     He left a will on 26 May 1818 at Johnston Co, North Carolina; Jesse gave his wife "one negro girl named Tamer", one riding chair and harness, all household and kitchen furniture, and tools. He included all his crops now in the ground. Jesse also left his negro man, Caleb.
He left son James a silver dollar; Lewis Tiner one negro boy named Isaac, and one boy named Abram, and after his wife passed, his man Caleb would go to him. Gifted to son Willis one silver dollar.
He gave to the heirs of deceased daughter "Farrows"[Farrar]: Eliza, Jesse, Polly, John and Benajah Farrows, a silver dollar each;
He gave sons John and William a silver dollar as well.
His wife Sally, son Lewis, and friend Needham Bryon were executors.2
