Sarah Tyner was born circa 1668; It is supposed that Sarah came from England to Virginia with Nicholas Tyner. She never married John Harris, but lived on his plantation and bore three of his children. His wife had no offspring. She was the daughter of Nicholas Tyner. Sarah Tyner died after 1710 at Chowan District, Albermarle Co, North Carolina.
She was named the probate of the estate of Nicholas Tyner on 9 February 1708/9 at Ilse of Wight Co, Virginia; Apparently, Nicholas did not approve of his daughter, Sarah, being mistress to John Harris and having three of his children. His stipulation in his Will that she shall have a cow and calf "if she will have it and noo more." He outlined more of his estateto his other daughters, but excluded Sarah.
