     Joel McClendon married Frances Lilly.1 Joel McClendon was born circa 1744.1 He was the son of Dennis McClendon III and Mary Ingram.1 Joel McClendon died circa 1789 at Montgomery Co, North Carolina.2
     Joel obtained a land grant 4 Mar 1775 of two tracts, 100 acres each in Anson County. In 1783 he received 150 acres; 100 acres in 1786, all in Montgomery County.3
