Rebecca Nisbet

     Rebecca Nisbet was born circa 1811 at Parish Taughboyne, Donegal, Ireland. She was the daughter of James Nisbet and Mary Roulston. Rebecca Nisbet married Patrick Harrity on 29 January 1838 at Kingston, Kings Co, New Brunswick; They were both of Kingston and had the consent of guardians.¹ Rebecca Nisbet died between 1871 and 1881 at Kingston, Kings Co, New Brunswick; Rebecca was not present with the family in 1881, and Patrick was listed as a widower in 1881.
     She and Patrick Harrity appeared on the census of 1851 at Kingston, Kings Co, New Brunswick; Patrick Harrity, 31, Rebecca, 40, Daniel, 12, Robert, 11, Patrick, 10, Mary A., 7, John, 6, James, 4 and Michael, 2. All the children were born in New Brunswick, while the parents were born in Ireland.² Rebecca Nisbet and Patrick Harrity appeared on the census of 1871 at Kingston, Kings Co, New Brunswick; Patrick Harrity, 55, Rebecka, 60, Daniel, 30, John, 25, Michael, 19, and Joseph, 17. Daniel and John were both ship carpenters. Patrick was a "hole boreer".³
