Samuel Wait was born on 1 January 1738 at Exeter, Washington Co, Rhode Island.1 He was the son of Samuel Wait and Sarah Greene. Samuel Wait married Ann Gardiner on 8 June 1758 at East Greenwich, Kent Co, Rhode Island.1 Samuel Wait died after 1811.
In the year 1800, Samuel and his wife were of Shoreham, Vermont. They had purchased land from their son, Barton, for $300. They also sold another son, Jonathan, 18 3/4 acres within lot 76, but deeded the remainder to son James with an agreement that he was to care for them during their declining years. In 1811, James and Samuel both sold lot #76 and removed to Canada.
