Hennagin was born in October 1802 at
Kingston, Ulster Co, New York. He was the son of
David Hennagin and
Polly Peterson. David Hennagin married
Phebe Delong before 1838. David Hennagin married
Permelia Covey, daughter of
Samuel Covey Jr. and
Permelia Burr, on 1 May 1839 at
Russelltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec. David Hennagin died on 14 January 1882 at
Ellenburg, Clinton Co, New York, at age 79. He was buried at
Sheldon Cemetery, Ellenburg Depot, Clinton Co, New York.
He appeared on the census of 1851 at
St Malachy, Beauharnois Co, Quebec; David Hennigan, farmer, b. US, "Weslean", 48, Pamelia Covey, b. Canada, 43; Mary Hennigan, 20, Lora, 17, Oldis, 16, Aron, 13 [all children by his former marriage]; David, 10, George, 8, Amelia, 6, Jane, 4 and James, 1.
