Alexander Griggs married Melinda Derick, daughter of John Philip Derick and Elizabeth Hurlbut, on 12 July 1832 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.¹ Alexander Griggs died on 8 February 1854 at Clarenceville Anglican Church, Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. He was buried on 10 February 1854.
