     John Russell Covey was born on 12 February 1868 at Clinton Co, New York.1 He was the son of William Covey and Fanny Adelia Wells. John Russell Covey married Melissa Harriet Vosburgh, daughter of John Vosburgh and Harriet Brisbin, on 17 July 1889 at Adams, Massachusetts.2 John Russell Covey died in August 1943 at age 75.1 He was buried at Sheldon Cemetery, Ellenburg, Clinton Co, New York; Deborah Paine indicates his stone says John Covey Jr., 1868-1943.3
     He appeared on the census of 8 June 1900 at Pittsfield, Berkshire Co, Massachusetts.4 He appeared on the census of 25 April 1910 at Clinton, Clinton Co, New York; John Covey, 40, Melissa, 44, and daughter Ethel, 14. They had been married 20 years and had two children.5
