Margaret Salls

     Margaret Salls was born on 20 May 1801 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Birthdate calculated from gravestone. The Salls book indicates she was daughter of George Field Salls, but when Jacob's widow died in 1839, witnesses were listed as George Field Salls, and Margaret Salls, her children.^1,2,3 She was the daughter of Jacob Salls and Rebecca (?) Margaret Salls married William Darby on 16 June 1822 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.⁴ Margaret Salls married David Percy on 22 April 1841 at Dunham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; David "Parcey" was a widow of Dunham.⁵ Margaret Salls died on 23 October 1876 at Sycamore, DeKalb Co, Illinois, at age 75; Their son David Watson Percy, b. c 1833 Canada was still living in Illinois about 1875. It is likely he didn't move to California until after his parents had died.⁶ She was buried at Genoa Cemetery, Genoa, DeKalb Co, Illinois; Stone says she was 75 yrs 5 mos 3 days.²
