James W. Mastin

     James W. Mastin was born in 1816 at Champlain, Clinton Co, New York.¹ He married Elizabeth Salls, daughter of William Salls and Catherine Billings, on 5 January 1840. James W. Mastin died on 4 June 1897 at Rutland, Rutland Co, Vermont.¹ He was buried at North Burke Cemetery, Burke, Franklin Co, New York.¹
     He appeared on the census of 19 July 1860 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; James and wife Elizabeth were living next to Timothy Tryon and his 2nd wife Nancy Ann Woods in Burke.² He appeared on the census of 1870 at Burke, Franklin Co, New York; James Mastin, 53, Elizabeth, 49, Chancy, 25, Martha, 22, Elizabeth, 16, Francis, 14, and Chalmer, 12.³
