Mary Jane Gillett was born on 11 September 1864 at Chateaugay, Franklin Co, New York. She was the daughter of Byron Gillett and Merinda Laramy.1 Mary Jane Gillett married Arthur Eugene Salls, son of Enoch Salls and Mary J. Guertin, on 24 January 1885.2 Mary Jane Gillett died on 17 April 1931 at N. Burke, Franklin Co, New York, at age 66; Following their marriage, they had resided in Burke, Chateaugay, and more recent years in Malone.
During the World War II years she was a devoted worker for the Red Cross.2 She was buried at Morningside Cemetery, Malone, Franklin Co, New York.
