William C. Derick was born on 14 July 1822 at Foucault, (now Missisquoi Co), Quebec. He was the son of Philip Derick Jr and Barbara Young. William C. Derick was baptized on 15 June 1823 at Caldwell's Manor, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Caldwell's Manor & Christie's Manor Anglican Church. He married Sarah Osborne, daughter of Abraham Osborne and Catherine Emerick, on 25 March 1846 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Clarenceville Methodist Church. William C. Derick died on 1 April 1903 at Worcester, Worcester Co, Massachusetts, at age 80.1 He was buried at Worcester, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.1
He witnessed the death of Catherine Derick on 24 February 1857 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 William C. Derick appeared on the census of 1861 at Noyan, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; William Derick, 39, Sarah, 37, Edith, 13, Wesley, 11, and Florence, 1. The family was Wesleyan Methodist.3
