Susanna Covey was born on 20 November 1843 at Russeltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec. She was the daughter of Elisha (Elijah) Covey and Sarah Priest. Susanna Covey was baptized on 27 February 1850 at Russelltown Methodist Church, Russelltown, Huntingdon Co, Quebec; by Rev. Hugh Montgomery. She married Henry Doane on 10 September 1865 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; The Doane book mentions Henry married Susie E. Covey of Franklin, Quebec. This would explain why Aaron and Auldice Covey were both living in Framingham with the Doane family. Susie E. Doane is just the right age to be their sister Susanna.
However, the marriage record for Henry Denne and Susan Covey indicates his parents were Joseph Denne and Karen Treal.1,2 Susanna Covey died in 1927. She was buried at Edwards Church Cemetery, Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts.3
She appeared on the census of 1865 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; Susie Covy, 21 was living with ten other young men and women 15-25. This is including Auldice Priest, 25, and Amelia Hennagin, 20. They were listed as Operatives.4 As of 5 April 1868, Susanna Covey was also known as Susan G. Covey.5 She and Henry Doane appeared on the census of 14 June 1900 at 7th Street, Brooklyn, Kings Co, New York; Henry Doane, 62, Susie E., 55, Leina D. Sammond, 24, daughter, Herbert Sammond, 28, son-in-law, Oldes A Covey, 53, sister, and Arthur Wilson, 17, grand nephew. They had been married 35 years and had 5 children, with just three living.6
