Eveline Daley

     Eveline Daley was born on 28 December 1861 at West Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.^1,2 She was the daughter of Joseph Daley and Mary Hepburn. Eveline Daley married William Judson Wood, son of Joseph Williams Wood and Elizabeth Brown Howard, on 11 May 1881 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. Eveline Daley died on 8 June 1941 at Alma Avenue, E. Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 79; Son Carey Wood had been the informant.^1,3 She was buried on 10 June 1941 at Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; The funeral record [as well as the death certificate] shows Evelyn Daley, 79, had resided at Alma Ave, East Saint John. Parents were given as Joseph Daley and Mary Hepburn.³
     She appeared on the census of 1881 in the household of Joseph Daley at Ward 4, Portland, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; Joseph, 49, Mary, 48, and children listed as being Baptists of Irish origin. Eveline, 18, Mabel, 18, Carrie L., 10, Blanche, 8, Henry, 14, and William, 1. Joseph was a carpenter and William was an apprentice.⁴
     Eveline Daley and William Judson Wood appeared on the census of 1911 at 82 Broad Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; William Wood, 49, Evelyn, 49, Carey, 14, Violet, 5.William was a toolmaker and the family was Baptist. Living in the same household was Harris Davidson and his family.⁵
