     Rachel Howard Wood was born on 22 December 1856 at Gardner's Creek, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. She was the daughter of Joseph Williams Wood and Elizabeth Brown Howard. A bond for the marriage of Rachel Howard Wood and James Archibald McGaw was signed in 1878 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1 Rachel Howard Wood married James Archibald McGaw, son of John McGaw and Eliza Hamilton, on 6 April 1878 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. Rachel Howard Wood died on 19 February 1918 at 169 Victoria Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 61.2,3,4 She was buried on 19 February 1918 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; She was buried in Lot 569.3
