New Brunswick, Monmouth Co, New Jersey. She was the daughter of
John Brown and
Margaret Rozelle. Elizabeth Brown was born in March 1768. She married
James Kerr, son of
Thomas Kerr, on 11 July 1782 at
Charlotte Co, New York; This record was entered on 29 July 1820, by Hugh MacKay, late Queens American Rangers, Lt Col Commander, Charlotte Co Regmt of Militia. I might add the date reads the 11th July 1782, rather than 10th July. The marriage was recorded in Charlotte County New Brunswick.
1 Elizabeth Brown died on 14 April 1840 at
Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia, at age 73; Elizabeth was aged 74.
2 She was buried at
Old Burying Grounds, West Amherst, Cumberland Co, Nova Scotia; "Mrs. Elizabeth Kerr, relict of the late Colonel James Kerr (formerly Captain in the Queens Orange Rangers) who departed thi slife April 14th 1840 in the 73rd year."
