Nicholas Rossiter was born circa 1539 at Combe St. Nichol, Somersetshire, England. He was the son of Philip Rossiter and (?) (?) Nicholas Rossiter married Elizabeth (?) circa 1570 at England.1 Nicholas Rossiter died on 1 April 1608 at Somersetshire, England.1
In 1592/3, Nicholas Rossiter was taxed on land in Combe, St. Nicholas. Out of 25 taxables, he was the only taxed on land in that parish. At the meeting of the Manorial Court on 21 April 9 James I (1609), a 20 man jury declared that Nicholas Rossiter, a free tenant, died since last court was held and that his son Edward was his next heir [NEHGR, Jan. 1984, p. 11].
