John Nisbet was born on 21 February 1841 at Milkish, Kings Co, New Brunswick.1,2 He was the son of Joseph Nisbet and Elizabeth Cunningham. John Nisbet was baptized on 16 January 1842 at Westfield, Kings Co, New Brunswick.3 He married Susan Eliza Hogan, daughter of Anderson Hogan, on 5 August 1879 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; They were married by Benjamin Chappell, Methodist minister. (Saint John Marriage Records, Vol. J, page 16.) John Nisbet died on 24 December 1907 at 15 Albert Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 66.1,4 He was buried at St Paul's Anglican Church Cemetery, Whitehead, Kings Co, New Brunswick.4
According to information Dorothy Wiggs researched, John Nisbet was a farmer and lived in Milkish at the time of his children's births. His death record indicated he died at 15 Albert Street, Saint John, but his residence was Kings County. He was survived by his wife and sons Fred J., James S., and Charles T., as well as one sister Mrs. James R. White.5 He witnessed the marriage bond of Mary Jane Nisbet in 1871 at Kings Co, New Brunswick.6 John Nisbet appeared on the census of 1881 at Westfield, Kings Co, New Brunswick; The enumerator separated John from his wife and son in the census, although, it did show them living next-door.7 He appeared on the census of 1901 at Kings Co, New Brunswick; John Nesbit, 60, Eliza, 43, Fred'k, 20, James, 19 and Charles, 17.8
