Elizabeth B. Closson

     Elizabeth B. Closson married David S. Sweet, son of James S. Sweet and Lorany Tryon; "David and his wife, Elizabeth, had no children of their own. Because his brother, Haviland, died in the Civil War and his widow, Lucy (Elizabeth's sister), died soon after giving birth to their last child, David and Elizabeth filed for guardianship of their (Haviland and Lucy's) children. The US government agreed and paid until the youngest became an adult."¹ Elizabeth B. Closson was born on 11 May 1814.¹ She died on 31 December 1893 at age 79.¹
