     John Nisbet was born circa 1859 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; John died aged 32 yrs.1 He was the son of Oliver Nisbet and Mary Stewart. John Nisbet married Eleanor J. Darrah, daughter of John Darrah and Rebecca Jones, on 11 October 1886 at FCB Church on Waterloo Street, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick. John Nisbet died on 13 May 1891 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1 He was buried on 16 May 1891 at Fernhill Cemetery (interred in public ground), Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; John's burial permit states that he was John Nisbett, born in Saint John and his father was named Oliver.
     He appeared on the census of 1861 in the household of Oliver Nisbet at Westfield Parish, Kings Co, New Brunswick; Oliver Nisbet, aged 39, born Ireland, of the Methodist faith, along with wife Mary, aged 41, also born Ireland. Their children were enumerated as Margaret, 18, b. New Brunswick; James, 14; William, 12; Letitia, 10; Robert, 8; and John, 6.2 John Nisbet witnessed the marriage bond of Ralph Haslett in 1871 at Kings Co, New Brunswick.3 John Nisbet witnessed the marriage of James Nisbet and Sophia Burket in 1874.4 John Nisbet witnessed the marriage bond of James Nisbet and Sophia Burket in 1874 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick.5 John Nisbet appeared on the census of 1891 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick; John "Nesbitt" was 32, a millman, and living in the household of his mother-in-law, Rebecca Darrah, along with his wife Ellen J., 30, and her siblings, Wm J., 23, Joseph A., 21 and Mary Darrah, 19; Listed last was Ellen M. Nesbitt, 3 yrs old. John, his wife and daughter were listed as Baptists, while the Darrahs were Presbyterian.6
