James Enoch Wait was born on 9 September 1861 at Lingwick, Compton Co, Quebec.1 He was the son of James Hix Wait and Sarah Mary Keenan. James Enoch Wait was baptized on 11 November 1861 at Bury, Compton Co, Quebec.1 He married Carrie Belle Moore on 5 April 1894 at Butte, Silver Bow Co, Montana.2 James Enoch Wait died on 16 August 1937 at Missoula, Missoula Co, Montana, at age 75.3 He was buried at Missoula Cemetery, Missoula, Missoula Co, Montana.3
He appeared on the census of 1900 at Anaconda, Deer Lodge Co, Montana; James Waite, 37, Carry, 23, Wm, 5 and Mary, 3. James and Carrie had been married six years.4 He appeared on the census of 1910 at New Chicago, Granite Co, Montana; James E. Waite, 48, b. Canada, Caroline, 33, born Nebraska, married 16 years with two children, both living. Son William, 15, dau Mary C., 13, both born Montana.5
