     Jane Longeway was born on 21 October 1787 at Rouville Co, Quebec.1 She was baptized on 22 October 1787 at Pointe-Olivier (St-Mathias), Rouville Co, Quebec; Godparents were Pierre Lacasse and Marie Raymond.1 She was the daughter of Remie Longeway and Marie Geneviève Raimond. Jane Longeway married Stephen Nokes, son of John Nokes, before 1811. Jane Longeway married Briggs Wait, son of George Wait and Elizabeth (?), on 11 October 1821 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 Jane Longeway died on 19 August 1859 at Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec, at age 71.3 She was buried at Marlington Cemetery, Stanstead, Stanstead Co, Quebec.3,4
     As of 22 October 1787, Jane Longeway was also known as Genevieve Bodineau.
