     David Andrew Waugh was born on 28 September 1876 at Clinton, Worcester Co, Massachusetts.1,2 He was the son of Samuel Waugh and Sarah Margaret Bigham. David Andrew Waugh married Sophie Pauline Koch, daughter of Paul A. Koch and Rosina Beck, on 1 September 1915 at Beverly, Essex Co, Massachusetts; The marriage, registered in Brookline, actually occurred in Beverly. They were married by Andrew L. Bixler, 40 Railroad Ave, Beverly, MA.3 David Andrew Waugh died on 21 January 1971 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts, at age 94;
     "David Andrew Waugh, 94, of 27 Belvidere Rd, died this morning at Kathleen Daniel Nursing Home.
     A native of Clinton, the son of Samuel and Sarah Waugh, he had been a private chauffeur. After retiring as a chauffeur, he was employed as a custodian by the Framingham Trust Co. until 1960.
     He had lived here 45 years. For many years he was a member of Wesley Methodist Church, Framingham.
     He was the husband of the late Sophie P. (Koch) who died in 1961.
     He leaves a son, Wilbert A. Waugh, of 87 Edmonds Rd, Nobscot. He also leaves two grandsons, David F. of Holliston and Randolph S. of Framingham. Several nieces and nephews survive as well.
     Private funeral servce will be held at the Wadsworth Funeral Home Framingham on Friday 2 PM. The Rev. Lloyd E. Chorpenning, minister of the Wesley Church will officiate. Interment at Edgell Grove Cemetery."4,5

     He appeared on the census of 1910 at Brookline, Norfolk Co, Massachusetts; David Waugh was aged 33, boarding with the Miett family.6 On 12 September 1918, David registered for the draft during WW I at Brookline. He was aged 41, and gave his residence as 124 Eliot St, Brookline, his occupation as self-employed in the laundry business. He was of medium height and build, with blue eyes, brown hair but bald.2 He appeared on the census of 12 January 1920 at 115 Eliot Street, Brookline, Norfolk Co, Massachusetts; David A. Waugh, 42, Sophie P., 40, both born Massachusetts, were accompanied by their children: David A, Jr, 3 5/12 and Wilbert A., 4/12.7 In 1922, David Waugh and wife Sophie were living at 4 Knobscot Road in Newton Centre, Massachusetts. Shortly after that, they removed to the town of Framingham. Real estate records in 1926 show that David A. Waugh was residing at 27 Belvidere Avenue, Framingham. His house was valued at $3600; land 6281 ft $400; Personal $0. Total real estate value was $4000. Both David and Sophie were members of the Wesleyan Methodist Church while in Framingham.
     David was a gardener from at least 1926 through 1940 and later a private chauffeur. Following this he was employed a s a janitor at the Framingham Trust Company until 1960.8 He appeared on the census of 4 April 1930 at Framingham, Middlesex Co, Massachusetts; David Waugh, 52, whose parents were born in Northern Ireland, Sophie, 50, parents born in Germany, and Wilbert A., 10. David was a landscape gardener.9
