     William Whelpley was born on 8 February 1781 at Connecticut.2 He was the son of Darling Whelpley and Abigail Beck.2 William Whelpley married Mabel Thomas, daughter of Thomas Thomas and Mary (?), on 27 November 1804 at Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.1 William Whelpley died on 10 May 1830 at Saint John Co, New Brunswick, at age 49; They had supposedly settled in Kings County and had thirteen children. His death notice indicates he left a wife and twelve children behind.3,2
