Loyalist Cemetery, Saint John, Saint John Co, New Brunswick.
4 Charles Thomas was driven from his house in Connecticut and reached British lines where the Army employed him as a pilot on Her Majesty's ships. He was commissioned as Capt of a Volunteer Company of Loyalists which manned the armed sloop until the end of the war. He came with his wife, Sarah, and six children to New Brunswick where they live in the wilderness without allowances. Petition was dated 10 Nov 1789 at Saint John. He claimed a house and six acres, as well as three months' service on the HMS
Swan and other vessels (as his brother Thomas did).
