     Filer Salls was born on 22 July 1800 at Quebec.1 He was the son of Abraham Salls and Phebe Filer. Filer Salls married Nancy Bush on 2 September 1823 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.2 Filer Salls died on 29 November 1882 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec, at age 82.1,3 He was buried on 1 December 1882 at Union Cemetery, Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec.4,3
     on 14 Apr 1827, Abraham and his wife, Peggy Miller, gave his son Filer Salls 18 acres of land in Noyan. In return Filer was to allow Peggy Miller life rent, twelve bushels wheat, eight bushels corn, 200 pounds good fat pork, ten bushels of potatoes, ten pounds of tallow, "the whole of yearly life rent to be paid and delivered on the first day of January of every year", also to providee lodging to the donor.5 He appeared on the census of 1851 at Clarenceville, Missisquoi Co, Quebec; Philer Salls, farmer, b. Canada, Methodist, 52, Nancy, 50, Seymour, 19, Edward, 17, and Mary Ann Trescott, b. England, 16.6
