Daniel Wood

     Daniel Wood was born on 17 January 1758 at Mansfield, Tolland Co, Connecticut.¹ He was the son of Nehemiah Wood and Elizabeth Hovey.¹ Daniel Wood married Lucy Parish on 29 March 1783 at Falmouth, Hants Co, Nova Scotia. Daniel Wood was baptized on 11 March 1792 at Maugerville, Sunbury Co, New Brunswick; Daniel, John and Nehemiah were all baptised as adults by Rev. John Beardsley.² He died after 14 November 1812 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia.³ His estate was probated on 8 March 1813 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia; Inventory was to be submitted 8 Jun 1813.⁴
     He left a will on 14 November 1812 at Cornwallis, Kings Co, Nova Scotia; Daniel mentions his wife Lucy receiving 25 pounds Nova Scotian currency, the western part of the house and use of a cow, horse and sleigh, saddle and harness, and enough wood for a fire.
     Son Enoch, a lot of the estate, daughter, 150 pounds, Sarah, 150 pounds, Elizabeth, 150 pounds, and for daughter Alice, who's health was weak, to be comfortable, with Enoch's assistance. He also gave 150 pounds to Alice. To daughter Lucy and Alice, cash as well as more to be paid after marriage.⁴
