     Philo Salls was born on 30 May 1839 at Brome, Brome Co, Quebec; The 1901 census points to the year 1844 for birth, but both 1861 and 1881 census records indicate c1839.1 He was the son of Abraham Salls Jr and Melinda McCoy. Philo Salls died on 17 February 1905 at Iron Hill, Brome Co, Quebec, at age 65; He died at the home of his sister, Mrs. Hannah Sanbourn.2,3,4 He was buried on 20 February 1905 at Iron Hill, Brome Co, Quebec.4
     He appeared on the census of 1861 at Farnham, Missisquoi Co, Quebec. He appeared on the census of 1881 at Bolton East, Brome Co, Quebec; He was listed as "Filer" on the census, aged 40, living with his sister, Phebe, and her husband, William Egglesfield.5
